Run a technology consultancy. Projects range from simple implementations of a Joomla or Wordpress template to custom designs, plug ins and stand alone web applications. My standard tools of trade are HTML/Javascript on the client side and PHP on the server side. I am looking at server side Javascript (possibly node.js) for a future project. I can find my way around a Linux shell and Apache server. I have built mail servers and VPNs. I am currently experimenting with Python on the server (using FLASK) for its application in data manipulation and machine learning projects.

Major projects include the development of a field data collection web application prototype for the monitoring of insect infestations in a greenhouse as part of a integrated pest management strategy. My current aim is to extend this data collection tool to enable remote and automated monitoring and reporting with the view towards predictive capabilities.

Prepare and deliver various I.T. Training courses. I have run courses at many different levels from beginner to advanced. My focus has been on teaching open source software. I have run courses on Joomla (beginner and advanced), Wordpress, general web development (Introduction to platforms, server types and setup, HTML, CSS, PHP)
